December 8th- Children’s Christmas Worship
10:00 AM  One worship service only- No Sunday School

Children’s Christmas Worship Service:  The Children’s Worship Service will be on December 8, the 2nd Sunday in Advent .There will be one service only at 10:00 AM.  The service titled- Prepare our Hearts to Give in the Spirit of Jesus- will be a traditional service featuring a drama about St. Nicholas with John the Baptist and Isaiah.  Children from the Sunday school classes will be performing in the drama.  They will also be singing Christmas songs they have learned during the Sunday school opening music time. The JAM class will sing a preview of the Christmas Carols they will sing at  nursing homes on Dec. 14. As a way to model giving to those in need, families with children in the Sunday school classes are encouraged to select, with your children, a name from the Aqua Viva Gift drive.  This simple act of kindness demonstrates the act of giving to those in need.  Information about the gift drive and names are available from the table in the lobby. The gift drive will be from November 10th -Dec. 1.

December 15th- Texas Lutheran University Christmas Vespers 2019
4 PM

In preparation for the Christmas season, Texas Lutheran University hosts its annual Christmas Vespers service. This celebration of music and word honors the integral role music has played in Texas Lutheran’s curriculum and religious and cultural history. Audiences take advantage of the opportunity to hear the ethereal voices of the TLU choirs each year.  The service is free and no ticket is required.

December 22- Weihnachtsfest  A German Christmas Festival
4 PM  Music Prelude at  3:30 PM

The service is led by Rev. Heide Harris with music offered by St. Martin’s Choir, the Austin Saengerrunde Damenchor and Männerchor, members of the Balcones Community Orchestra, and  the St. Martin’s Ringers.  Everything is spoken and sung in German, but the program contains a page-by-page translation. A reception will follow in the Fellowship Hall.
